We are Alex and Andreea. For seven years, our lives were defined by lines of code, automation, and the relentless pursuit of perfection as QA engineers. We were trained to hunt for "bugs," optimize performance, and never settle for a result that was merely "good enough."
Moment Zero: Aurora-Sofia
In 2020, our universe shifted. With the birth of our daughter, Aurora-Sofia, our priorities recalibrated. As she grew, we realized that our most important project wasn't software; it was time.
We chose to step back from our corporate careers to be present for her, to stay current with new technologies, and to build a path that belonged entirely to us.
The Creative Spark - Andreea
For a long time, candle making was my "someday" dream. I loved the idea of it - a quiet, relaxing hobby to help me decompress from the world's noise. But life was always too loud and too busy; the time to truly focus on the craft felt like an unreachable luxury.
When I finally started, it was supposed to be simple. I just wanted to work with my hands and enjoy the process. But I realized quickly that my mind doesn't just "relax" - it organizes, analyzes, and structures.
What began as a peaceful pastime soon met the reality of my engineering DNA. I didn't just want a candle that smelled good; I wanted one that was perfect. I brought the vision and the aesthetics, but once we began deciphering the science behind every flame - from the precise melting point of botanical waxes to the capillarity of the cotton wick - there was no turning back.
I turned a hobby into a mission to create excellence, drop by drop.
The Technical Obsession - Alex
I initially stepped in just to help Andreea unmold a few pieces - a simple favor to support her new hobby. But I was hooked instantly. Where others might have seen only wax and wick, I saw a complex system of variables and thermal dynamics.
I couldn't help myself; I saw design challenges that needed solving. What was meant to be a simple way to relax quickly turned into a twelve-month obsession for both of us.
We decided to audit the entire process from the ground up. We burned through hundreds of prototypes, precisely measuring melt pools and calibrating wicks with the same surgical rigor we use to debug complex software.
We stopped just "making" products and started engineering an experience. We optimized every detail: from the "friction" of the unboxing experience to the behavior of the flame in its very last second of life. For us, perfection isn’t optional - it’s the core technical specification.
The Search for Perfection
As we dove deeper, we realized that to build the cleanest, healthiest candle possible, we had to reject the industry "standard." We applied our background in research to the chemistry of fragrances and the physics of wax, making a firm choice to never compromise on safety or performance.
The Engineered Ingredients:
- The Scent | An Emotional Instrument: We believe a candle is more than a fragrance; it is a sensory experience. To capture the perfect notes, we partner exclusively with elite perfume houses in Grasse (France), the UK, and Switzerland.
- The Safety | Zero-Tolerance Policy: We treat our ingredients with the same scrutiny we applied to code security. We have a zero-tolerance policy for toxins; every fragrance we pour is strictly Phthalate-free, Paraben-free, and CMR-free.
- The Wax | Superior Performance: We migrated to advanced Coconut, Rapeseed, and Olive waxes because they are cleaner, safer, and technically superior. Even our beeswax is sourced raw from local beekeepers and purified by us in-house using filtered water, ensuring no impurities touch the air you breathe.
The Hardware
We also realized that a premium candle shouldn't come in a banal glass jar destined for the trash. We wanted to create an object of permanence.
We build the vessel.
Every ceramic jar is hand-cast and finished in our atelier, designed not just to hold wax, but to remain in your home as a piece of art long after the last flicker.
Just as we did with our wax blends, we researched ceramic powders, sealants, and thermal resistance until we created a vessel that feels as good to hold as it is to look at.
Built by Us, Code and All
There is no "outsourcing" here. The website you are browsing? We wrote the code. The photos you see? We captured them. The unboxing emotion? We designed it.
We do it all ourselves - spending days and nights perfecting the craft - because we want to guarantee that when you open that box, you feel the years of care, research, and love we’ve poured into it.
To us, Luxury is not a marketing term. It is an engineering standard. It is a feeling. And above all, it is an experience designed to last.
