Before Burning
Before Burning
- Remove the candle tags, ribbons, packaging and labels.
- Trim candle wicks to a height within 5-10 mm. This prevents uneven burning, dripping or flaring.
- Unlike container candles, sculptural ones don’t have a wall to contain melted wax. They will drip, so always use a protective heat-resistant tray or plate underneath.

While Burning
While Burning
- Check your burning candles regularly for mushrooming, and trim the wick if necessary.
- For each burning session, make sure the wax melts up to about 0.5 cm from the edges before extinguishing it. This helps avoid “tunneling,” where only the center wax melts, and also prevents the candle walls from cracking and spilling the wax.
- To preserve the shape and extend the life of your soy decorative candle, burn it for 1–2 hours at a time (for sculptural candles) or 3–4 hours (for pillar candles). Burning for too long may cause the wax to overflow or lose its form.
- Stop burning a candle when there is 0.5 cm of wax left.
- If burning multiple candles, place each candle at least 7 cm apart from one another (best at 10 cm). This is to ensure they don’t melt one another.

When Extinguishing
When Extinguishing
- Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle, if available, as it’s the safest way to prevent hot wax from splattering.
- Do not use water to extinguish a candle, this can cause the hot wax to splatter.
- Before leaving the room, make sure your candle is completely out and there is no glow coming from the wick ember.
- Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.

Tips
Tips
- Because our candles are made from 100% natural soy wax, you may notice small whitish crystals forming on the surface over time. Frosting is a natural effect of soy and other plant-based waxes. It’s harmless and indicates that the wax is 100% natural and additive-free. Each candle is unique - frosting shows it’s hand-poured and eco-friendly.
- Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Before re-lighting, let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts.
- Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Do not place lit candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended or lit while sleeping. If you are going to leave the room or go to bed, be sure to extinguish all candles first.
- Never touch or move a burning candle or while the wax is liquefied.
